SINAZO SIBISI

FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

  • Sinazo is a strategy and turnaround specialist with over 30 years of executive management experience in various sectors including infrastructure, financial services and information technology. She has in-depth experience in strategy, organisational design, disposal of non-core assets and retrenchment processes, business process reengineering, culture change, performance management, and change management. Her career highlights include being the first Black woman to serve on the Deloitte Southern Africa Executive Committee as well as serving on the Consulting Management Team and the Global Public Sector Board and turning an R500m pa loss-making DBSA Development Fund into a profitable Infrastructure Delivery Division within one year, also increasing turn-over from c.R1bn to over R3bn in the same period. She has also served on numerous boards including currently serving as the Chairperson of Terebinth Capital and has provided expert input into various key initiatives such as the ADB’s Africa Economic Outlook 2016 and the WEF Africa Strategic Infrastructure Initiative. Sinazo has also written numerous thought leadership articles, one of which was recently published in the Harvard Business Review.

MARCO MOLLER

CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

  • Marco is a serial entrepreneur and currently serves as a director of various private entities including Surfzone Commodities, the ASAM Resources Group of companies and African Star. He has developed various mining concerns of scale, while also serving as both a CEO and CFO on private and public Boards for the past 20 years. Marco’s experience extends to cross border commodity trading in energy and metals, while also having active interests in manufacturing, the built environment and PaaS related fintech concerns. He has successfully taken three projects public and served in various executive capacities on corporations and public entity boards, including the LSX, AIM, ASX and TSX markets. Marco started his career as an auditor with PwC, whereafter he ventured into mining and manufacturing being part of the governance structures, completion of feasibility studies, corporate funding, and management of development projects of $682 million and above. He holds a MBA with UCT GSB and management certificates with various institutions.

CHARLENE NYEMBE

CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER

  • Charlene is a Chartered Accountant with years of experience in auditing, financial and investment management. She has worked as a senior audit manager at Deloitte Africa, an Audit senior at Deloitte Canada, as an executive at the Phembani Group, (an industrial holding company), as the Managing Executive of AWCA Investment Holdings where she drove the establishment of a private equity fund, AIH Capital Fund, and as the Project Lead and Executive Director of the Southern Labs Institute of Technology which focuses on increasing the employability of African youth by creating meaningful career opportunities. Charlene has experience in a variety of sectors including mining and metals, oil and gas, logistics, information technology and financial services. She has also served on the boards of a number of entities including Engen, Yellowwood and Bidvest Protea Coin.

SHAHEEM SAMSODIEN

CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER

  • Shaheem has decades of specialist litigation and legal consulting experience and is well-versed in local and international law serving clients across the African continent and globally. His specific areas of expertise include a wide range of corporate legal and advisory services as such due diligence and start-ups; regulatory and compliance; business stakeholder (shareholder, management, employee and community) relations and governance; corporate acquisitions, divestitures, structured and general business transactions; dispute resolution interventions; as well as winding-up and exit strategies. He has represented clients in the Lower and High Courts, CCMA and Labour Courts, Competition Commission and Competition Tribunal, mediation and arbitration proceedings and various industry self-regulatory dispute resolution fora.
